Jack Kelly
Veteran TV and film actor who began his career as a child performer. Kelly was best known as the co-star of the popular Western series "Maverick," which ran on ABC-TV from 1957-62. As Bart Maverick he played the brother of James Garner's Bret Maverick; both were dapper gamblers and card-sharks who wandered throughout the West and got involved in all kinds of tongue-in-cheek mischief. Kelly's official film debut was "The Story of Alexander Graham Bell" (1939) starring Don Ameche, though he also appeared in the previous year's "Swing Your Lady," a minor Humphrey Bogart entry. Kelly's feature credits include Douglas Sirk's "No Room for the Groom" (1952), Bud Boetticher's "Red Ball Express" (1952) and the MGM science-fiction classic "Forbidden Planet" (1956).
