'The Redhead from Wyoming' qualifies as a thoroughly predictable but nevertheless entertaining, horse opera about a range war between trigger-happy cattlemen and homesteaders in the 1880s, with Maureen O'Hara at her fiery best--This good, old-fashioned western is a treat, especially the big finale in Sweetwater as well as in the saloon with Kate, Averell, and Blaine shooting it out... Touch of red... in glorious Technicolor!!

Okay western is colorful and Maureen O'Hara is fiery in the lead. It's all pretty average until it tips into the realm of the ridiculous by having Maureen fight a range war in diamonds and a black beaded evening gown! Still not bad of its type.

Based on a "real" incident from Wyoming's rustling- cattle range war past the film of course is pure 1950's Hollyood pulp western. OHara does a fine job as the Saloon owner ( in real life the character owned a small free range spread) as does he rest of the cast. Fun to watch once. Too bad Hollywood doesn't remake this with the real story as it would match Eastwood's Unforgiven for a modern die hard western.
