Daniel Gorman In Review Online It's all unabashedly titillating and gratuitous, a cheap version of a Joe Eszterhas thriller in an era when such things are extremely out of fashion. Oct 2, 2025 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast The funniest crime film to be shot in Malta since The Final Justice with Joe Don Baker. Look for it on MST3K. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 23, 2025 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture Compulsion is an obvious twist at the service of hollow provocation. Sep 23, 2025 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film There’s an action sequence towards the end which is among the director’s best. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 22, 2025 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Neil Marshall's foray into the lurid giallo-style erotic thriller is mostly a missed opportunity. Rated: 2/5 Sep 21, 2025 Full Review Elijah Fischer MovieJawn Compulsion (2025) is not exactly groundbreaking. Marshall tells an entertaining story, and has enough talent behind the camera to keep it visually compelling, but unfortunately his foray into sleazy slashers leaves a bit to be desired. B P An Uneven Erotic Thriller With Loving Nods to Argento and De Palma. ‘Compulsion’ gets more wrong than right, but there’s still a niche audience for this brand of pulpy erotica. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/19/25 Full Review Patrick C Set in the country of Malta, Evie (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) is staying at a house owned by her step-father for a bit. She soon meets and befriends her neighbors Diana (Charlotte Kirk) and Reese (Zach McGowan) while a serial killer strikes the small island. When the police get involved, they begin to suspect Evie as the out-of-towner who could be responsible for the killings. This started out as a great homage to the 70's and 80's giallo genre. A wonderful opening scene shot from the killer's POV that features hints of the original HALLOWEEN score. In addition, like many great giallo's of the past, the killers preferred weapon is a straight razor. Unfortunately, the body count is low but is made up by the fact that both Evie and Diana soon enter into a romantic relationship. The film could have been trimmed down by 10-15 minutes but does offer a lot of beautiful scenery that makes the audience want to visit it immediately. A film that had potential but didn't execute completely unfortunately. Still worth the price of admission for the scenes between Evie and Diana are they are steamy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/25 Full Review Audience Member All Neil Marshall seems to do these days is make Z-level movies with this actress who looks like a hybrid between a washed out old pornstar and a desperate housewives tv show character. He's made 4 movies in a row with her as the lead so far, all of them very bad. Uwe Boll-level bad. I think she's his wife or partner, so the creative abilities he initially had as a director are not in control anymore. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/25 Full Review Stephen G A Brutally Delicious Fun Fest of A Film... A Must See Film For Fans of Homicidal Intrigue... So much fun watching this unfold and evolve, characters were a joy to see in action. It didn't feel forced as many of the movies of late, I genuinely felt connected to each of them as they pushed us Into each new piece of the story created here. A must see for fans of mystery and intrigue... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/22/25 Full Review So N Ama Sieklucka and Charlotte Kirk played their roles brilliantly, Ama as a mysterious lesbian and Charlotte as a confident, beautiful, and seductive thief. They portrayed a relationship full of passion and desire. I recommend this film to every adult. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Jessica L Extremely dull..I imagine this movie would only be "sexy" for a couple of 10th graders with nothing else to do. The acting does provide a few laughs. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
