Giulia Gorietti

Vivacious and beautiful young Italian starlet Giulia Elettra Gorietti always seemed destined for fame, but acting in movies was not initially how she seemed fated to reach the spotlight. A very gifted gymnast from an early age, Goretti became a member of the Italian rhythmic gymnastics team when she was only 12 years old, but was forced to quit the sport shortly afterwards when she sustained a serious knee injury. She then segued into training as a dancer and appeared on the TV show "Caramba, Che Sorpresa!." In 2002, at the age of 14, she was spotted by a casting director and was given the title role in the hit 2003 coming of age dramedy "Caterina in the Big City," about a country girl forced to get used to metropolitan life when her father's new job takes the family to Rome. Her profile increased with a principal role in the 2004 teen romance "Three Steps Over Heaven" (a box office winner which spawned the 2007 sequel "Ho voglia di te," in which Gorietti also appeared), and the 2005 comedy "Ti amo in tutte le lingue del mondo," in which Gorietti played a schoolgirl in love with one of her teachers. She subsequently studied under film actress Gisella Burino at the Associazione Culturale Mondo Artistico and, following a stint on the celebrity ice skating TV show "Notti sul Ghiaccio," has returned to both the big and small screens, most notably in the 2011 mini-series "I liceali."
