Trashy and idiotic, Crescent City is an embarrassment to crime dramas. This awful and stupid movie is filled with substandard performances in a poorly written story about police on the hunt for a serial killer. A plot twist at the end is laughably bad.

Give credit to the filmmakers for being willing to go darker than necessary. The atmosphere is moody and decadent enough to satisfy noir fans, but the plot keeps veering into strange digressions.

One word for this movie - Unwatchable. 30 minutes in I turned it off. I love both actors after seeing Esai Morales in Ozark play a dastardly Mexican Cartel Lieutenant and Terrence Howard was incredible in "Crash" many years ago, but both were completely out of their element here. A lousy script from the start, these veteran actors should have passed on this one.
