At a remote estate in upstate New York, newlyweds Leah (Ella Rae Peck) and Shane (Rigo Garay) celebrate their honeymoon, but a pall hangs over their union. She works for the publisher who will be releasing his debut novel, a lightly autobiographical examination of family trauma, alcoholism, and the immigrant experience. Barely suppressed tensions over family trauma would be enough kindling for a blowup, but Leah and Shane's marriage is truly tested by the appearance of two weirdos with entrepreneurial zeal and a half-baked blackmail plot: John (John Speredakos) and Rose (Lorraine Farris). They're looking for investors for John's latest invention, a culinary breakthrough called the Crumb Catcher -- and they won't take no for an answer.

Namrata Joshi The New Indian Express Promising more than it is able to deliver, it’s a case of a genre indie that stops short of becoming a kitschy B Grade classic. Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety If you can withstand spending nearly two hours in the company of these grating, argumentative characters, there are rewards to be had in a skillfully wrought, twisty suspense tale. Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com The title of “Crumb Catcher” is all too apt. Skotchdopole sprinkles bits and pieces that add up to very little. Rated: 2/4 Jul 19, 2024 Full Review James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk a stylish, bizarro corkscrew of a black-comedy-thriller Rated: 3/4 Aug 19, 2025 Full Review Cody Allen The Curb Crumb Catcher is a strange little gem of a film—equal parts home invasion thriller, satire, and offbeat dark comedy. It’s the kind of movie that makes you wonder if you should be laughing, panicking, or both. Jul 28, 2025 Full Review Cameron Ritter Geek Vibes Nation Crumb Catcher is easily one of the strongest directorial debuts of the decade, with Chris Skotchdople elevating what could have been an average home invasion horror flick into a darkly comedic, electric twist on the genre. Jonathan C In a time when so many movies are the same, this one was different. It had a great cast, beautiful camera work, and fantastic pacing. Reminds me of why independent films are so important today! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Sarah S I really liked this film - the next generation of Big Lebowsky Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review Slimothy Absolutely loved it! Would watch it again. Brilliant performances Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Tom L Insane romp that ratchets up the tension to a breaking point and then just keeps it going unrelentingly. Truly original story and great work by the actors. The over the top performance of John Speredakos as the psycho waiter was beyond excellent. This is also a movie that can be appreciated equally by both high and low brow horror fans. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/15/25 Full Review David A I didn't realize until the movie was over just how much they did....with so little. Think about it.... mainly it was all shot at the vacation home. The characters were unique enough to keep you focused on them....the story was original for sure. It's an interesting movie....don't pass it up! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review Charles P Sometimes it seems uncertain of just what sort of film it wishes to be, but overall there is an enjoyably dark romp under the thin acting of Garay (especially) and Peck, both of who have been saddled with significantly underwritten characters. If you can deal with how grating the character is, Speredakos' John makes a worthwhile antagonist accompanied by his partner/wife Rose, portrayed by Farris in what is probably the greatest of her ability, given how thinly her character is as well. It could certainly be better developed, but not bad overall. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/27/25 Full Review Read all reviews
