It was a sitcom, which is to say habitual - and since it is still frequently broadcast and enjoyed, it is with us as much as it ever was. And we don't enjoy our favourite habits being changed for us.

Wonderful , lovingly recreated tribute, marvellous cast, all perfectly slotted into their respective characters , it's moderately funny , nicely paced with beautiful scenery and a cracking script. Keep cynicism at bay and enjoy ..

If you're a Dad's Army fan like me then you'll thoroughly enjoy it. The script lacks richness at times and the story is a bit weak, but I like Dad's Army so much that I just loved this tribute to the originals. Toby Jones is outstanding and really believable in the role of Captain Mainwaring and Bill Nighy is always a joy to watch, as is Michael Gambon. It's very silly but great fun.

A pointless remake . Only laughed once during the whole film . Did the film makers ever watch the original .? Some good actors are wasted on this film..
