Amy Nicholson Variety Even in its strangest moments, there's something refreshing in LaMure's insistence that human behavior doesn't fit in tidy boxes, and that kids are stronger than adults suspect. Dec 1, 2017 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Other than its performances, everything it offers feels inorganic. Nov 30, 2017 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This drama is under-directed to the point of being alternately lifeless and awkward, but the main character has an appealing spunkiness that sometimes elevates the film. Rated: 2/5 Dec 8, 2017 Full Review Prairie Miller WBAI Radio Sterling Jerins impresses as an eleven year old with a dark and capricious but fascinating imagination. And Shields subtly and gracefully goes inside herself to burrow into the complicated emotional life of this woman. Mark D Did you people watch the same movie as I did? Have you all taken leave of your senses? This is one of the worst movies I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. Everything about it is horrible. The acting, the writing and even the soundtrack are awful. How do films like this even get made? Overall it was as cheesy as a Welsh Rarebit. Yuck! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review nope n Kevin Ourvan's "Sorry" had me in tears the instant I heard it. Absolutely beautiful. I hope he went on to do great things. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review farah r If not for its nearly unbearable slow pace Daisy Winters would be an interesting character study in the center of a heart-warming story. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I think this film needed to be seen and appreciated for what it really was. Not some sticky sweet melodrama like you would see on the Hallmark Channel. It delves into some very tender emotions, some of which were so heartbreakingly honest, it's obvious that the writer/director (Beth LeMure, who subsequently commited suicide soon after the films' completion) must have lived these some of these experiences - she was so spot on. There definitely were some moments that I, personally, could relate to. It is a lesson to those who have never experienced these raw emotions, to open their minds and hearts to see that indeed, there are people out there who have. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member A truly lovely movie. Yes, a bit of a tear jerker, so bring your tissues. The acting is superb. The young Sterling Jerins is magnificent and the others were so great in their role. I really enjoyed the film and would definitely recommend this "sleeper" to anyone looking for a touching story Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best, most poignant films I have seen in a long time. Brooke Shields is raw and stunning. Sterling Jerins is a star. Must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
