Mark Olsen Los Angeles Times Though the performers gamely try to make the most of what little they have to work with, the film is murky to look at and unfocused in its storytelling. "Dead Awake" is a deadly snore. Rated: 1/5 Dec 9, 2010 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com If you think this is going to be an okay movie, you are dead wrong. Audience Member a not scary supernatural thriller at a short 89 minutes ought to tell u something Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Nick Stahl plans to fake his funeral and see who shows up in hopes of solving a mystery from a while back. I could see the twist coming from the get go, and the acting and characters weren't that interesting in order to get me to enjoy this. It was boring and felt incredibly forced. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Its terrible don't watch it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I love Rose McGowan's work and in this piece she is really wonderful. Stahl always seems to be sleepwalking through his lines, but the story is a good one and that helps! Nice surprise ending, even if you see it coming, it helps to wrap up loose ends, that is if you stay awake. The pace is very slow moving, and at one point I was wondering if I had clicked on a Christian Lessons Movie!! The story starts ok, then loses steam halfway. No real suspense, not a thriller, and not really full of energy. Not terrible, just not real good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It should be called "Try to stay awake" I feel asleep less then half way through. I rented dead awake from redbox for a dollar and I want my dollar back. It's to bad because the actors are fantastic, amazing job as always from Nick Stahl. I wish someone would give him a better role then he gets. Just for that reason I am going to attempt to watch it again and stay awake this time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Personally I think Amy Smart plays a better crackhead than Rose McGowan but noone asked me to be casting director so.... besides that this movie basically rocks on 9 out of 10 levels. ~ 2cents Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
