timmy b Dec 15 Before there was the Film "The Substance" there was "Death Becomes Her". Such a brilliant, funny and thought provoking Movie for the time. It really was, in its own way, a foretelling of sorts of what Hollywood and the 1st World would be like 35 years later. Obsessed with youthfulness but with no substance. How ironic. Robert Zemeckis Directed this brilliantly. Meryl Streep really was incredible. Goldie Hawn shines brightly and Bruce Willis gives a Career Highlight. See more salvatore t Oct 31 i ll go against any of the actual critics who find this movie bad because it knows what its gonna say and the director knows his job... two women who use beauty as a weapon against the other and for their own satisfaction but when they lose it they become so desperate to get it back that they turn their body into strange materials just to feel alive real and gorgeus... amazing a bit like our times too and the moral of the story is:spending your life in hatred and plotting for vengence just isnt gonna make you get better;the more you get eaten by the fear of falling apart the more you will fall apart...
