Audience Member Fantastic back story brought to life brilliantly, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an extremely low budget film by a woman, Faith Granger, who has never worked in film before. She wrote, directed, and produced this film. Also did the cinematography, editing and music. A one woman band. The amazing thing is, it is extremely well done with outstanding cinematography, editing, and music with top notch production values. About 65% of the film takes place in the '50's and considering I was about the same age as the people in the film at that time, everything about the film is dead on period correct....at least as I remember those days. Some of the dialog is a little corny and some of the acting is marginal. The dialog is probably due to Ms. Granger being French and the acting is no doubt due to the fact that many of the people in the film are not actors. However the story is engaging enough that none of the flaws are a problem. There are some beautiful scenes in the movie that transported me back to those days and made me wish it was me in the center of the action. The film starts off with a woman (played by Ms. Granger) finding an old '32 Ford hot rod roadster hidden away in a barn in Texas. She buys the car from the owner's widow and then becomes intrigued with learning the history of the car after taking it home to California. It turns out that it was originally converted to a hot rod back in the '50's by a 21 y.o. handsome guy with a somewhat wild reputation. He falls for one of the high school cuties whose parents want nothing to do with him. When the girl graduates from high school she is shipped back east and the two lose track of each other. The boy then goes through some very serious speedbumps in his life and loses the car which eventually makes its way to the owner in Texas. The current owner of the car finds an unsent letter hidden behind a panel in the trunk of the hot rod that spells out his love for the girl. Through info gleaned from this letter the current owner manages to track down both the guy and the girl (now in their 70's) and reunite them both with the hot rod. I knew nothing about this movie when I bought the DVD directly from Ms. Granger at a hot rod show. Because I am a died in the wool hot rodder (I have my own '32 roadster) I bought the disc really not expecting much. More curious than anything. Let me say I was pleasantly surprised by the extremely high production values of this film. There is nothing about the look of this film that would ever give a clue that it was made for next to nothing.
