jon c From the late executive-producer Laura Ziskin and director Norman Jewison HBO Films presents a drama of love, friendship, and heartbreak starring Dennis Quaid, Andie McDowell, Toni Collete, and Greg Kinnear For 12 years two couples have been the best of friends Yet things drastically change after one of them decides to split up It affects everybody bickering over who's side to be on, who's to blame or decide what to do long-term For any married couples there's lots of lines in this that'll make them wince and think hard about how a marriage should work It's overly-dramatic and there's a ton of dialogue exchanges among everyone about this topic Not for everyone mind you but the actors play very convincing individuals Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review a b Somewhat stiff and artificial, definitely felt like a play. Despite all their pseudo psycho blabbing, the characters stayed shallow and annoying. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved it. It's such an intense drama about relationships and marriage and what happens over the years. Completely realistic. This movie is probably fairly obscure to find, but I randomly own it and finally watched it. It's a rough watch, solely based on the dialogue. Nothing else really. The points made in the conversation are hard hitting and can affect anybody's relationship, it doesn't matter who it is. An amazing film for anyone to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst film I have ever seen. As one other person posted... over-dramatic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member (***): Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member TV may be mostly a wasteland these days, but every once in a while, a fine original film shows up on the tube. `Dinner With Friends' is certainly in that category. It takes the viewer deeply into the relationship between two couples and within each. An original Playwright brought to HBO is clever, entertaining and simplistic. The ending is a great twist- just when you think your know your friends... everything is an illusion. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
