nick s Very good acting by the leads. It was a bit on the slow side. The dramatic turn at the end felt a little out of kilter, as did the ending. But it was a good theme to explore and the director did a pretty good job. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/24/23 Full Review Martin B A simple yarn, perhaps too simple but Hedy Lamar makes it shine. She's simply radiant, perfect body, face and hair and acting talent to match. In life she was a hard as nails woman, as brilliant and creative as beautiful too much for any one man. In this movie she does an extended scene where's she's intoxicated making critical mistakes because of it and the performance was spot on. Drunk scenes can be tough to do but she performed it in a subtle. slightly understated way that was perfect. Her facial expressions were critical through the entire movie and wonderful to see a master at work. A down side was the pretty boy light weights she acted opposite of but an upside the two witches from the Wizard of Oz appeared in the movie, both terrific character actresses delivering great performances in limited rolls. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review joe m Decent if dated film that is carried by Hedy Lamar's better than average performance. Standard story of woman, Madeline Damien, making it in the big city of New York as a fashion editor. Yet her high powered job and sophisticated but heartless friends are all part of her glamorous yet empty life. She has an awakening with the help of a kind psychiatrist and turns her life around, meeting the man of her dreams. Of course, Madeline has a few hard lessons to learn to see if she can really find true love. Suspenseful and enjoyable film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow and with stiff acting …and a bad 5th act murder that seems to belong to a different movie make this a slog of a watch Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review ogn d So, I'm watching this godawful schlock on TV because supposed to be Fingers at the Window in the TV listings Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Lamarr had a stronger role in this film, giving her a chance to show her talent. The costumes were well chosen for the different stages of the character's life. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
