Penelope L You must see Distant Tales. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Shem Bitterman's vignettes are moving, funny, poignant stories with some great unpredictable twists. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/23 Full Review Tom L "The COVID movie genre." I've seen a whole mess of these low-budget, low-wattage, low-stakes movies over the past three years. None of them really registered with me -- until DISTANT TALES. Genuinely clever all down the line, with performances that're knockout memorable, this drama-centric anthology showcases a surfeit of fascinating-characters-interacting-exclusively-via-the-internet (and situations, too, that are surprising, revealing, and involving). See it for both an entertaining ride and a time capsule of recent societal challenges! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/08/23 Full Review Rich R Amazing film! Highly recommend watching! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Mitch R Dark, haunting and quite effective glimpses of lonely lives behind webcams. Can't recall the words "Covid" or "lockdown" being mentioned, but it certainly has that vibe. Makes you wonder what's really going on out there in this big world. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Movie R A fantastic micro-budget movie gem! The stories unfold at an excellent pace, the dialogue is brilliant and captivating, and the actors deliver fantastic performances. These touching tales feel both relevant to today's pandemic-stricken world and universally relatable, offering a timeless reflection of human connection. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Elizabeth The film does pretty well for a low budget feature. The actors help elevate the script, though the writing between each story is not created equally. Thankfully none of them felt longer then they needed to be, and even if one isn't to your taste, there is still a chance for a different one to resonate with you. Also each one succeeds in building up a compelling level of suspense in their own unique way. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
