Susan K May 17 This movie grips your attention and emotions from the start! The scenarios are extraordinary, Though each one involves Zoom conversations between 2 people the intensity brings you in, not just as an observer but a participant. I caught myself talking to these characters; giving them advice, articulating similar experiences, speaking emotionally about what they were going through etc. This is a must see! I've seen a whole mess of these low-budget, low-wattage, low-stakes movies over the past three years. None of them really registered with me -- until DISTANT TALES. Genuinely clever all down the line, with performances that're knockout memorable, this drama-centric anthology showcases a surfeit of fascinating-characters-interacting-exclusively-via-the-internet (and situations, too, that are surprising, revealing, and involving). It is an anthology, so there are four unique stories. This might contribute to the quality of the film because each of the four stories is tightly crafted with spot on performances.
