Audience Member DitoSP is a movie about an uneducated village Filipina girl wanting an American boyfriend for money and other benefits after seeing and hearing about other Filipinas getting benefit out of it. She does not even speak much English & she has never been out of the Philippines. Although some people think that villagers do not want more and are content, they are the same as city people who want more out of life. Her neighbour tries to convince her to stick to Asian men because they know the traditions and also speak the same language as she does. It's a story that makes you think, makes you laugh, makes you cry. In the end, she faces with a lot of misunderstandings. It is not in any way trying to put down people in interracial relationships which also Philippines is famous for. It does not try to put an end to it either. It also does not point that Filipina/Asian women should only stick to Asian men. It does not try to put down Asian women who date and marry Non Asian men. Love is international. But the film IS making fun of relationships where a Filipina/Asian woman whom speaks very little English gets involved with someone whose mother tongue is English.
