Chitoge K Divorce Invitation is a rom-com that attempts to explore the consequences of impulsive decisions in marriage but ends up being a baffling endorsement of immaturity and irresponsibility. The protagonist, a man-child with no sense of accountability, converts to Judaism to marry the love of his life, only to later cheat on her with a wealthy CEO who is, frankly, just as clueless as he is. The real question here isn’t about love or relationships—it’s about why two capable, independent women are written as fools for a man who barely functions as an adult. The male lead, who behaves like a five-year-old, suddenly decides he wants a divorce like he’s ordering food at a restaurant, and his wife—who should have walked away the moment he showed his true colors—refuses. Instead of holding him accountable, the movie twists itself into knots trying to justify why this man deserves a second chance. The film’s biggest flaw is its lack of logic. The idea that a competent CEO would fall for such an immature man, or that a strong, self-sufficient woman would refuse to leave a husband who disrespected her, is beyond frustrating. By the end, when the protagonist calls off the divorce and his wife simply accepts it, you’re left wondering: what was the point of this entire journey? Divorce Invitation could have been a thought-provoking story about personal growth, but instead, it reinforces the tired trope that women should tolerate and forgive men no matter how poorly they behave. If you’re looking for a movie that champions emotional maturity, look elsewhere. If you enjoy watching otherwise smart women make baffling decisions for the sake of a man who doesn’t deserve them, this might be your kind of film. the CEO character. Instead of being a strong, independent woman with depth, she comes across as someone who is inexplicably eager to throw herself at an immature, married man. The movie reduces her to a plot device—a woman who seems to exist solely to create drama rather than having any real personality or self-respect. The way she so easily becomes involved with the protagonist, despite knowing he is married, makes her character feel cheap and unrealistic. Instead of being a powerful and intelligent CEO, she’s written as someone who acts recklessly, as if she’s just waiting for any man to come along. It’s an insult to both her and the wife, who also deserves better than a man who treats his marriage like a joke. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/25 Full Review Audience Member LAME!!!! Mike was a total immature ass!! Loved the ending, though... ð~? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a pretty good story with a fun cast of characters. The ending was a bit strange, but probably more realistic than most rom-coms. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member needs a negative stars option for rating!! WORST MOVIE EVER!!! horrible plot, disjointed, can't believe Jamie Lynn Seigler was in this career ender! Don't even waste your time like I won't waste mine explaining my negative review. I shouldn't have wasted the time finishing the movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Love is an indescribable feeling you get when you see someone you know who would do anything for you, you see someone with a life growing inside of them a life you hope you create, living with someone day after day, waking up with someone with their bad breath and you just look at her and you said God she's beautiful! Dylan I've given you all the reason not to love me, but there's only one reason ILOVEYOU! - Mike Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Well that was different, but she shouldn't have taken him back. Once a cheater always a cheater. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
