Sergio Corbucci's film is notable not only for the artistry of its construction, but also for the underlying anger that fuels its political agenda. Go to Full Review

Corbucci’s film is as angry as it is poignant, filled with its director’s intense hatred for fascism while refusing to allow any character what could be truly defined as a happy ending or arguably even redemption. Go to Full Review

Corbucci’s style and genre-rich direction gives the movie a kick that you don’t find in most studio Westerns. “Django” could be too much for traditionalists, but that’s exactly what will makes it so beloved by others. Go to Full Review

Don't be fooled into believing that Django had approximately two dozen sequels, as practically all (like Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! and Django the Bastard) were merely unrelated rip-offs and most only included a character named Django in the title! Go to Full Review

Laurian D @Laurian 17h Watch this classic with the origjnal, Italian audio track and the subtitles in your language. Avoid the English dubbing, it gives the movie an unnatural feel and A LOT of lines are changed, literally ruining the impact of key moments, even that of the finale! Choose the right audio and you'll be enjoying every minute of this amazing ride, it's as close to perfection as it can get. See more No-one 1 Feb 15 A very good old western icon. it speaks about history and facts good and bad ones in a respectfull way while shows you the difficulties of the people at that moment. it creates a good character with a background and tells you an interesting western story, something you could believe according to those times. the fastest gun of the West. See more Daniel C. M Dec 22 One of the icons of the Spaghetti Western and it leaves no wonder why. Checks out all the tropes in a actually good way, mainly because it was one of it's pioneers alongside Leone's Dollars Triology. Very fun and solid action that still holds up to this day and will still hold up in a thousand years. See more Chris H 08/05/2024 I know this film is a beloved classic to many people, but sorry, it's not great. The dialogue is crass and the dubbing is appalling. There are a lot of things that make no sense and the film is terribly dated. I wonder, though, if it would be better if viewed in its native Italian? Nero is compelling and often looks like he's saying something profound and not the dross that the English dub makes him say. Maybe there's a great film in here somewhere.... See more Jonathan G 08/04/2024 The classic western is such an interesting beast from a past lifetime; and I’m really hoping to delve more into it as the only other classic western I’ve seen now besides this is also gorgeous and amazing (The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly). Essentially what people call a “spaghetti western”, Sergio Corbucci’s “Django” is a brutal and pure-blooded western. The ghoulish atmosphere makes this also as thrilling as it is a complete sight to the eyes, also, a theme song for the hero? Absolutely amazing. It’s somewhat campy nature also doesn’t muddy the film and actually makes it even more iconic and enjoyable. Oh and also, Franco Nero is absolutely great in this as well. See more 06/09/2024 This movie is fantastic, and took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I’m excited to watch the sequel, even though I heard it was terrible. See more Read all reviews
