There's nothing tragic, everyone got paid, there's little on the line, but Dons of Disco paints a fascinating, compelling portrait of dueling butt-hurt egos, wonton petty bitterness, and constant escalation. Totally low stakes, but absolutely compelling. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Ziggy 05/03/2023 If you are a creative person, this documentary is a must-see Ever been to a nightclub and seen the attractive but shy guys get nowhere while the bad boys with less style get all the girls? What sets them apart? The first will overthink, doubt and ruin his chances. The second has confidence in knowing he cannot fail. Here's a crazy true story about 2 equally good looking guys. Tom is a super talented singer-songwriter. Den, a charismatic dancer who don't speak english. The record label makes an offer to Tom to "borrow his voice" to the lipsyncing dancer. He agrees. Den becomes a superstar, everyone gets paid, but things are now not what they're supposed to. On the surface, "Dons of Disco" is a fun and entertaining documentary about Italo Disco's version of Milli Vanilli and where are they now. Underneath, a reminder to creative people to never doubt themselves and go all in. There all loads of shoulda woulda couldas. All they really lacked was faith and confidence.
