David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk If you want to kill some time you can have a laugh along with it, but regardless there is no point in this film having the Doom name attached, it does very little with the IP. Rated: 2/5 Sep 30, 2020 Full Review Jeremy Jahns JeremyJahns.com A very bad attempt at adapting a video game to the big screen. Apr 6, 2020 Full Review Vincent Schilling Indian Country Today Great job reviving the world of the DOOM video game with nostalgic colored key cards and the BFG-3000, not an Oscar's contender, but who cares. Rated: 6.9 /10 Jan 11, 2020 Full Review Ben Kuchera Polygon Doom: Annihilation never rises above a slog. Jan 9, 2020 Full Review Steven Redgrave Pop Culture Leftovers With a predictable plot, stereotypical characters, and mediocre CGI, this film is lacking a lot, but fans of the franchise might find appreciation in nods to the games. Dec 4, 2019 Full Review William Bibbiani Bloody Disgusting Despite its low budget it's bound to satisfy more fans of the historic video game than that Dwayne Johnson film ever did. Nick C Terrible movie would not recommend the plot was confusing if you want doom play the games then watch this movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Treyton H I love DOOM as a game series so it pains me to report that this movie SUCKS. Twenty minutes in and I'm already ready for it to be over. Watching this is a process of waiting for any redeeming qualities to appear, but they are too few, too short lived, and too far between for any hope of redemption. In short, if you are looking for an Aliens clone, just go back and watch Aliens again because this is just embarrassing and lacking in any originality. Who was this movie made for, I wonder? Because it fails to meet the criteria of any audience at all. I facepalmed through the whole thing. The entire cast seems bored. I don't want to talk down any of their performances because in the right context, I'm sure they're all talented, but I have a feeling the director was responsible for this overall waste of time, effort, and money for all involved. I should have just spent 90 minutes playing DOOM 64. Note to Hollywood: Just make an animated film for DOOM. And don't hire B movie directors unless you want to make a B movie. Stop insulting the intelligence of those who want to see truly good video game movies because this IP is great. The only way you can fumble like this is when the project is produced by people who really don't care about creating lasting art. I'm convinced that given the same budget, I could make a better DOOM movie in under a year with a smaller cast and less dialogue. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/24 Full Review Pierre L 6 restraints \ help yourself! 0 -> entry into hostile zone for security 1 -> geoloc goal to be reached before total explosion (30 minutes) 2-> geodata corrupted by adversary 3 -> excess inhuman presence 4 -> legitimization of the inhuman presence by alleged historical precedence 5 -> presence of hostages who can be returned 6 -> no help will come; you are the help => help yourself! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review Valok P With boring, stereotyped characters, cartoon-ish effects along with a story with no creativity or soul without an ounce of respect for the source, Doom: Annihilation is the pinnacle of terrible video game movie adaptations. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/24 Full Review steve d Better than the original but the characters are fairly flat.
