Q.V. Hough Vague Visages “Lili Simmons plays it perfectly in ‘Double Down South,’ a cinematic descendant of the modern gambling classics ‘Rounders’ and ‘Mississippi Grind.'” Mar 4, 2024 Full Review Marie Asner Phantom Tollbooth Kim Coates does manage to steal each scene he is in with his piercing eyes and inability to stand still. Rated: 3/5 Jan 19, 2024 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com The perfect cast brings this twisty script to life and creates one of the most entertaining movies of 2024 thus far. Rated: 7/10 Jan 17, 2024 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Gritty, but exhausting, overlong and vapid. Jan 16, 2024 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation A languid, drawling bore that’s about as interesting as the keno-pool games that are its centerpiece. Ronni I loved it enough to pay to watch it twice, and I've only done that a few times in my life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Neil J Watchable but very predictable. Pretty girl who's good at pool turns up and - guest what - she's really good. Don't expect any twists and it's certainly not a thriller. You can see the ending coming. No Idea why it's got such high scores. The kind of film that should be on Netflix, and that's not a compliment. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Horrible accents. Not one of them speaks the same way as the other. It's distracting. Sounds like a bunch of northerners trying to mock various accents they've heard on TV...with no clue where they were from. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review mark B This movie lures you into the stadium with great story-telling, great acting, and then hits it out of the park. Do not find out the story ahead of time--let the movie take you on its ride. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Michael G. L Very good movie I haven't seen a story line like before. Lili Simmons was excellent and played her roll very well. Glad I saw it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Olivia P Double Down South is a gritty and intense confidence-thriller that keeps you on edge, telling a captivating story about a sport you likely didn't know about. Some may find it too intense, but I certainly enjoyed the intensity. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
