Doug's 1st Movie may entertain very young fans of its main character, but essentially amounts to a forgettable feature-length episode of his show.

Kathy Cano-Murillo Arizona Republic [It's] a cute little flick for kids that delivers an elementary message about doing the right thing.... Beyond that, it doesn't differ much from the weekly Disney series: thin story lines decorated with charismatic voices and silly one-liners. The kids in the audience certainly loved it. Rated: B- Jul 13, 2023 Full Review Common Sense Media Editors Common Sense Media Doug saves a lake from a polluting monster. Dale R Based on the Disney version of the Nickelodeon television show Doug. The plot centers around Doug and Skeeter finding a lake monster and trying to keep it safe. I was a fan of the Nickelodeon version of this show and once Disney bought the animation company that created Doug, their version of the show was never quite the same. Including the absence of the amazing theme song! The characters and heart just aren’t there and it seems a hollow shell of what it used to be. This movie is forgettable and not worth your time, but check out the Nickelodeon television show!
