In this live-action film based on the favorite children's tale, the trouble-making Cat in the Hat (Mike Myers) arrives at the home of bored young Sally Walden (Dakota Fanning) and her brother, Conrad (Spencer Breslin), while their mother (Kelly Preston) is out. The family's pet fish (Sean Hayes) objects to the Cat's presence, but that doesn't stop the hat-wearing giant feline from trying to have fun, no matter how much destruction is left in his wake.

Hat 04/21/2023 absolutely insane, but too long See more Dominick G @RT43032080 1d This movie is such a cult classic. Cat in the hat takes you on a beautiful crazy journey that will make you laugh, and cry. Mike Myers humor and jokes is excellent See more Diesel G @RT06440264 1d This is absolutely the worst Dr. Seuss adaptation with the big examples of what made an adaptation generically bland. The only things that made it good has got to be David Newman's composition, that one Smash Mouth song in the credits, Hang On, but it's very to little faithful to the iconic book. First of all, the CGI in this film is just plain off quality and is very dated because of how early CGI/live action films were until today. This film is completely filled with chaotic adult humor, which is very suggestive and inappropriate to put on an adaptation for kids, because it's something they're gonna impression on. And also this is a huge waste of talent of Mike Myers because his final look of the Cat is just creepy and obnoxious. The makeup on his also unnerving to look at, and even the cast is a huge waste of talent. Therefore, The Cat in the Hat is obviously the weirdest Dr. Seuss adaptation that falls from the source material and is just suggestive. See more Bailey S @Bailey2002 May 2 The storyline based on the classic book has been thrown out of the window. The fish saying "When your mother is out" line as he spoke too quick. The narrator in the background wasn't that too bad. The adult humors were secretly revealed by other YouTubers, which I found it disturbing and quite confusing. And Alec Bladwin's Larry Quinn was quite funny and it's still not the funniest villain character in a Dr. Seuss film. See more Gorgonzola M @16-Squirrel-In-A-Trench-Coat Apr 23 This movie would have scarred me for life as a child. It might have done that anyway. I enjoy a lot of "bad movies". I have seen some truly terrible movies, so I mean it when I say this is the worst thing I have ever seen. I'm not really sure what happened in it, but it looked repugnant. The only thing I can think of that is even somewhat comparable to the Cat is the Joker. The famous one that says "You wanna know how I got these scars?". He is equally horrifying, concerning, generally off-putting, except the Cat is also obnoxious. He tried to hit some children with a baseball bat. I thought he might kill them. He's probably killed people before. I'm going insane. He cuts his tail off with a giant butchers knife. There's so many overtly sexual jokes. Everything in this movie is so shocking and baffling at a certain point none of it is. I wish the Cat died at the end. I wonder if the people who made this movie are in jail because I don't know who else could've come up with this. See more Gononan B. @biggononanotthelilone Apr 16 The Cat in the Hat (2003) is a colorful, chaotic, and weirdly funny movie that’s entertaining but more memorable for its randomness than its story.
