Roger Moore Movie Nation It's a dry, almost lifeless account, with even the deaths seeming stodgy and silent-film-acting melodramatic. Rated: 2/4 Apr 27, 2021 Full Review Neely Swanson Easy Reader (California) The cast is peppered with excellent actors to little effect. Mar 23, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Perhaps surprisingly, this older Dunkirk is less sentimental and more cynical than the Christopher Nolan blockbuster. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 18, 2020 Full Review Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine Seconds before the next raid by German divebombers, Britons on a French beach are shown praying for divine deliverance in a scene from this honest and stirring British film. Oct 23, 2019 Full Review Isabel Quigly The Spectator While handling a legendary-by now almost a sacred-subject, and with an admiring sense of its heroism, it is not afraid to show those who were involved in it as men first and heroes second. Andrew F The best movie ever made about this event. The enormity of the production presents a truly large scale reenactment. The strengths, weaknesses and vulnerabilities of the situation and of those who were part of it both come across reflecting the humanity and integrity of those involved. If you like war movies where the characters swagger around with pouty expressions and something goes bang every 60 seconds then this is not for you. If you like movies that make you ask yourself what you would have done in that situation then this is for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review robert p What an amazing success this was for Simon who was riding high on a couple of movies that were very good. The only reason I give this *4* stars is because I consider his other Film to be a *5* star Zombie Movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member slow and boring I fell asleep Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Its masterpiece. I like Christopher nolan's movies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Out of the two Dunkirk movies, i perfer the new one but this one is not bad. For me i really enjoyed the final bit when the boats were coming to rescue the soldiers and what was happening back in England before the boats started to go out. The parts I did not look where when they went to the soldiers in battle because it was not as interesting and some of the diolge was a little cheesy as well some of the acting was not great. As well this movie felt too long. Overall it is a decent film. 7.0/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Much better focus on heroism of the British civilians who saved the day Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/17 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
