The cast is peppered with excellent actors to little effect. Go to Full Review

Perhaps surprisingly, this older Dunkirk is less sentimental and more cynical than the Christopher Nolan blockbuster. Go to Full Review

Seconds before the next raid by German divebombers, Britons on a French beach are shown praying for divine deliverance in a scene from this honest and stirring British film. Go to Full Review

Jim P Jul 15 For a realistic look at the Dunkirk story watch this original version. Spot the famous actors! See more Andrew F 07/27/2023 The best movie ever made about this event. The enormity of the production presents a truly large scale reenactment. The strengths, weaknesses and vulnerabilities of the situation and of those who were part of it both come across reflecting the humanity and integrity of those involved. If you like war movies where the characters swagger around with pouty expressions and something goes bang every 60 seconds then this is not for you. If you like movies that make you ask yourself what you would have done in that situation then this is for you. See more 07/18/2021 slow and boring I fell asleep See more 02/07/2020 Its masterpiece. I like Christopher nolan's movies See more 03/12/2018 Out of the two Dunkirk movies, i perfer the new one but this one is not bad. For me i really enjoyed the final bit when the boats were coming to rescue the soldiers and what was happening back in England before the boats started to go out. The parts I did not look where when they went to the soldiers in battle because it was not as interesting and some of the diolge was a little cheesy as well some of the acting was not great. As well this movie felt too long. Overall it is a decent film. 7.0/10 See more 12/30/2017 Much better focus on heroism of the British civilians who saved the day See more Read all reviews
