Mark B Feb 3 This syrupy melodrama has nothing going for it, and literally no one would be watching it in the 21st century had it not been nominated for Best Picture (for some reason). (#458 of my "Watch every BP nominee" bucket list) See more ChrisCSH H 09/16/2024 East Lynne is a sad tail about a woman who is driven away by her husband and forced to leave her child behind. The acting from the lead role and Harding who plays Lady Isabel has some exceptional scenes in the film and really pushes this film to be a best picture nominee for 1931. East Lynn is a solid melodramatic picture with strong performances throughout the film. See more Steve D 07/23/2020 far too over the top ans I love Harding.
