bill t A bit of a gong show here. Not a bad idea to combine A Christmas Carol with the old west, but Palance's over the top performance mixed in with some weird story additions, complete with a christmas pageant in the end! Sure weighs the thing down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member 151223: Jack Palance stars as Scrooge in this Canadian, made for TV, wild west version of A Christmas Carol. Bad acting all around coupled with weak special effects and costuming. Nothing to promote unless you put it in the extremely rare Christmas western niche. As a matter of fact, this film is almost painful. Appreciate the appearance of Ebenezer's nephew Fred, the local NWMP representative but really that's it. Unlike The Polar Express (2004), this is not a yearly Christmas requirement and it was my kindness that gave it three stars last viewing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie obviously has flaws, but it also has plenty of heart and the music score is very captivating. Defintely makes me feel the holiday spirit. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
