steve d The story is a bit uncomfortable but engrossing enough. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great actors, compelling film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Good performances from everyone except Spencer Tracy, who would not practice his lines, flubbing up dozens of scenes they finally had to just use. Tracy also refused dialect coaching and his American accent, among a sea of British characters, including his wife, is unsatisfyingly explained away by saying he is Canadian. Tracy's inability to act is most present in this film, although he always just plays himself no matter what the script calls for. The first generation of :"gentlemen actors" never understood they were actors. They much preferred being movie stars. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Yick. A man goes to the ends of the earth to get his son what he needs in life..including criminal ends and the son knocks someone up and offs himself. Sheesh. Nothing like a good family film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member well acted melodrama. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Actually a good movie.
