I generally do not understand why this movie does not have great reviews. The movie is incredibly funny with extreme amounts of plot twists. However I would not watch this as a family Christmas movie, it does not really bring that type of loving vibes.

El Camino Christmas has a star studded cast but sad to say it is very flat with an uneven story. The movie doesn't know if it wants to be a comedy or more of a dark drama/comedy. The end result comes out to be a less enjoyable experience by the viewer. This movie won't even make it onto my Holiday list of movies even though it has Christmas in the title. Dax Shepard and Tim Allen try their best to keep the movie afloat but they can only do so much. I honestly feel if they would have focused making this film more of a drama compared to a comedy that it would have turned out a lot better. El Camino Christmas gets a low 1 1/2 stars out of 5 from me:

This movie was terrible, especially the ending. None of any of the character's actions or responses made any sense. The character Beth Flowers, was completely superfluous and played no role to the storyline. I want a time machine to get that portion of my life back that I wasted on this movie.

This movie baffled me. It's loaded with comedic talent but there isn't a funny moment in it. I even enjoy dark comedies which is what Ive seen this described as but this is definitely not that. At best this movie is a mediocre drama.
