Arnie's not taking any chances this time, and the result is the most questionably repulsive big-budget film in recent memory. Go to Full Review

End of Days is never interesting and usually silly, but it might help Arnold get some momentum if he really does run for the governorship of California. At least he'll get the anti-Satan vote. Go to Full Review

The fatal flaw lies in the fact that the Devil, especially when personified by a talented and handsome actor like End of Days's Gabriel Byrne, is actually much more compelling and personable than the hero. Go to Full Review

The movie pits Arnold Schwarzenegger against the devil (Gabriel Byrne), with director Peter Hyams delivering tense moments of action amid not-so-subtle choices for character development. Go to Full Review

Ola G @Ollie1972 Apr 22 This 1999 Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle belong amongst his worst films to my opinion. The religious conflict between heaven and hell storyline doesn't really work first of all and the film is just a formulaic, incoherent and over excessed action thriller that doesn't fit the classic Schwarzenegger action sphere in so many ways. The acting is poor, the effects are poor and Schwarzenegger is sleepwalking through the running time. And adding the setting at the millennium in New York isn't helping. Gabriel Byrne does what he can as Satan while Kevin Pollak, Rod Steiger, CCH Pounder, Derrick O'Connor and Udo Kier are all wasted as they get nothing to work with in their roles. The only highlight is the lovely Robin Tunney, who does what she can with her character Christine York. "End of Days" goes in the burning bin... See more Richard L @KaneLives Mar 25 End of Days clearly suffers from sloppy direction (the myriad jump-cuts during action scenes are especially grating), a muted performance from Arnie, and the absolute stupidity of the whole idea of Satan being someone you can blow up with a grenade, but it has some fresh ideas, some great sets, excellent sound design, and a surprisingly satisfying ending. You could do much worse than this Y2K doomsday flick. See more Romas M @Romas Jan 16 Greetings from Lithuania. I've always enjoyed "End of Days" (1999) since i was a teenager and saw it back in 1999. I've watched quite a lot back then, it was one of those good and atmospheric horror action hybrids and it was very unique for that. Directed by Peter Hyams this is a dark and moody film that has excellent performance by Gabriel Byrne and pretty good job by Arnie. Special effects were very solid and i like the pretty touching ending. Again, this film shouldn't be taken very seriously but as a action, horror thriller it does work for me. Overall, "End of Days" is an entertaining horror, thriller action hybrid. At running time nearly 2 hours i'm always entertained by it. It has great sets, dark and moody atmosphere and it never gets boring. See more Kinsey Laura E @RT59705633 Jan 1 Saw this when I was a kid twice in theaters . Loved it , still do. This movie beat all action horror films. And I wish Schwarzenegger would've made more horror action films, he's good at it. See more Pinoy Short R @emill_santos Nov 18 Sakto lang. See more tommy J @RT55566390 Nov 1 Great movie.
