Michael Andor Brodeur Washington Post What’s most impactful about “Ennio” is the opportunity to see Morricone as a man and a music lover. Rated: 3/4 Apr 19, 2024 Full Review Maxwell Rabb Chicago Reader Diving into the history of these scores touches the heart of anyone who has been moved by his songs. In the end, it’s reassuring to learn how much heart emanated from the composer. Mar 30, 2024 Full Review Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune It’s not a short film, at roughly two and a half hours. It’s also so rich in its detail, and sheer musical variety, you’re grateful for the excess. Rated: 3.5/4 Mar 28, 2024 Full Review James Verniere Boston Movie News Film buffs should not miss director Giuseppe Tornatore's documentary tribute to one of the big screen's greatest composers. Amanda C TERRIFIC DOC ! fascinating long career of important composer. It was a bit long, but I loved the intimate style, learning about the intensity of collaborations, and hearing so much Italian ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Pam Loved it! Made me want to go right home and watch "The Legend of 1900" and "The Mission" again. My husband's first choice would be "Cinema Paradiso". And I loved "The Untouchables". What a giant he was! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Tom F A good look at the subject through interviews and clips of his work. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Aender S An excellent documentary of probably the greatest film composer ever. His music is at the centre, as it should be in such a film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Die Schweiz b If you couldn't get enough of the beauty of Leone's Westerns growing up, you will watch the movie irrespective of what I say. Watching him running through and describing each build-up to his major works is something that must be considered unique. Rare. The movie makes one understand and - most of all - aware of how significantly Morricone's music has impacted modern artists. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
