Video game inspired, this action thriller starts off well enough, but quickly devolves into a gun-worshiping festival of violence. We OF COURSE care about the kid and the protagonists, but the hundreds of police, soldiers, and civilians injured and killed clearly are just props in the background for the 'important' characters. I liked the contact character and the betrayals were fairly compelling. The kid was well acted and the soldier of fortune role was well played - but overall the plot was rendered silly by the scale of violence. Essentially this city was at war for the retrieval of this one kid - I guess this criminal organization had so corrupted the local government that it's leader was a defacto king. Regardless, I enjoyed the movie, it's just ameri-trash in the end.
