Audience Member The late Michael Apted tells us about the deadly lengths we go to as far as medicine Based on the book by Michael Palmer and starring Gene Hackman, Hugh Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker, David Morse, JK Simmons, and the late Bill Nunn The story follows a young doctor, Guy Luthan following a famous colleague, Lawrence Myrick for his famous practices The shocking truth is what he actually discovers goes against all code of ethics as a surgeon The truth is more horrific than he thought as Guy confronts Lawrence after a frantic naked man stumbles into his hospital yammering about what happened His co-doctor Jodie can't grasp onto what Guy thinks is really going on Even the authorities seem to be in on the whole undercover conspiracy I found it off-putting the music here is actually composed by Danny Elfman But the rivalry of Hackman and Grant is slick The mystery is thrilling and suspenseful and the fact that Guy gets railroaded at every turn seeking answers from a place called Triphase The movie's plot has the viewer ask do doctors have to what they can do succeed to cure all illnesses, are people less-fortunate expendable and won't be missed, if the opportunity came to go back to a life without health limitations would you take it, what would we risk? What is the most ethical, responsible thing to do when it comes to saving lives? This shows the more darker side of healing and making medical breakthroughs A thrilling fish out of water story where the 'fish' as it were seems to be swimming in dangerous waters Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review Steve D There wasn't enough here for this talent.
