Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Surprisingly funny and centered on a wonderful performance from Glowicki, Dauterman proves to be an inventive filmmaker with plenty of original ideas. Rated: 3/4 Sep 24, 2024 Full Review Matthew Jackson AV Club It’s a darkly funny, deranged little movie, and at its best it hits you right in the heart. Rated: B- Sep 11, 2024 Full Review Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org Booger feels like the indie body horror equivalent of Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, doing for grief what the latter did for depression Aug 3, 2023 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Despite its low budget, Dauterman’s film has a tense and eerie vibe that grows more and more uncomfortable as the film barrels towards its cathartic denouement. Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Subtle signs that have been sprinkled throughout begin to come together. It is still a horror movie, but there is another level to it. Regrettably, the ending does not provide a satisfying payoff. Still, it is an enjoyable watch. Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film A poignant study of the grieving process, Booger uses horror elements to explore disorientation and the acute insecurities that emerge from being suddenly alone. catdogkiddo so gross so good so cat Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Tyler G One note pressed at the same tone for 80 minutes. It is a thoughtful representation of working through grief and the delusions that can come with that, but it is ultimately neither funny nor horrific. An okay little low-budget movie. And I know every character seeming insufferable is a representation of the main character's mania, but it makes it no less enjoyable to deal with them. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Aldis H One note, slow, kind of dumb, tries to be emotional but mostly doesn't succeed, and the fact that a nasty, bleeding, infected cat bite never sees any cleaning or attention of any kind except a band aid is so blatantly symbolic it's embarrassing. There's a sink right there in the bathroom when she's looking at it getting worse and worse, like three times. She doesn't clean it like every single person on the planet would do. If she cleaned it, and called someone after being bitten by an animal, like ALMOST everyone would do (it's a law to report animal bites where I live, and I suspect probably everywhere in the US), there would be no metaphor. Hence the metaphor is manufactured on the writer's refusal to be in any way realistic about what humans would do after a bite. And when it's difficult to get past this sophomoric metaphor, and there is weak character development, you don't feel much at the end. I didn't feel much at the end. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Abdulaziz U Going into this movie, I had very little to no idea about what it would entail... And I was honestly expecting another Cat Woman movie with super powers. Ahaha. But it turns out, it was a short movie about Loss and it's impact on the mind. How reality gets warped and even surreal. The actors all played their roles beautifully and I really enjoyed the Atmosphere of the city. Overall, it as Moody, thrilling and built suspense. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Audience Member *Booger* is a film that has inexplicably high ratings, but in my opinion, they are completely unjustifiable. This movie is neither comedy nor horror as it's been marketed; it plays more like a drama with very little substance. At only 1 hour and 20 minutes, the entire movie can be summarized by [spoiler alert]: Hearing the song *"If You Like Piña Coladas,"* watching the protagonist vomit, and seeing her scroll through videos of her friend. That's it. There’s virtually no story development, and the film has no discernible ending. It feels like a collection of loosely connected scenes rather than a cohesive narrative. For those expecting something substantial, this movie will likely be a major disappointment. I can't recommend this movie—it simply doesn't deliver on any front. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Cool L Just thr most boring film ever. Dont believe any good reviews the world it mad. If this os body horror a women gets bitten by a cat and then eats cat food and throws up. Then what is the fly, the thing and really any other body horror because this definitely isn't it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
