Alec B Moore at his most smug and unfocused. Like most of his late period stuff he goes into the film with his mind already made up and then figures out how he will sell that idea Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Brendon M While Moore directs the viewer to some valid issues in regard to political corruption, he highlights his own biases; even when calling out both sides of the political isle. At the beginning of the film he points out how the Democrats have held most of the power for decades and calls them out for undeniable cherry picked facts but zeros in on Donald Trump with a lot of unproven accusations, shamelessly editing sound bites and clips out of context. The music and cinematography is used to demonise right wing politicians, while even the left wing politicians he criticises are shown favorably with bright upbeat music. He has clearly edited this film, so he does not get too much unfavourable backlash from democratic voters. He also did his usual part of portraying himself as the people's hero with immature publicity stunts that were probably more impactful in in his earlier films. Watching this in 2023 shows just how the film didn't age well in relation to his democraphic young hopefuls, whom have all since betrayed their constituents repeatedly. The film also spends too much focus on select issues rather than being an expose' of the general state of political affairs surrounding the film's theme. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Gareth v Arguably the weakest of all of Moore's docos. Too much of a scattergun approach. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/22/23 Full Review Mike J Pure nonsense about obesity in modern day America Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/22 Full Review Audience Member I *WANTED* to like this. I really did. Michael Moore did some GREAT stuff with "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11"... I always appreciated his passion, and the effort he put into documenting the stupidity of the Bush Administration (which, while stupid, doesn't even COMPARE to the stupidity of the "that-guy-from-Celebrity-Apprentice" Administration). Unfortunately, I was fascinated and disappointed to learn that Michael Moore is nearly as conspiracy-minded and ignorant of Nominative Procedure and Electoral Process as the average American-moron who attacked America on January 6th, 2021. Moore falsely accuses the Democratic Party of stealing its own 2016 Presidential Nomination (which means, after decades of being "involved," he apparently still hasn't ever bothered to learn how Caucuses and Primaries work, or how delegates are proportionally allocated at the district level.) These are, and always have been, highly visible and publicized processes. You'd think he'd at least make some effort to understand or at least research those processes before getting on a pedestal and declaring them "fake." He does get a lot right (his initial breakdown of Trump's publicity-stunt candidacy is accurate) but then he himself does nothing but engage in stupid publicity stunts like trying to "citizen's arrest" the Governor of Michigan -- which honestly only feeds into the nutty idea that preposterous things are reasonable. Moore's attempt at admonishing people who ignore or reject Facts and Law, while he himself consistently demonstrates a near-radical ignorance and disregard for Facts and Law, comes off as needlessly partisan and stupidly hypocritical. Much like Trump was America's worst and most dishonest Executive, this is Michael Moore's worst and most dishonest movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Moore's documentary is all over the map, zigzagging from Trump's election to fascism to the Flint water crisis to striking teachers in West Virginia. The election night footage triggers some serious PTSD and some of Moore's narration is way over the top, but it's still an engrossing film. Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader The director's comparisons between Trump and Adolf Hitler are overblown, but it's useful to be reminded that demagogues and oligarchs do not, as he puts it, fall out of the sky. Mar 4, 2020 Full Review Linda Marric HeyUGuys Another fine document of American life at an astonishingly strange point in its history. Sadly the film fails to answer its own questions, despite its most impressive and moving moments appearing to offer something of a solution. Rated: 3/5 Jun 5, 2019 Full Review Tom Charity Sight & Sound While some of Moore's shtick feels old hat there is a renewed urgency about his message. Jan 2, 2019 Full Review Laura Potier Outtake Mag Fahrenheit 11/9 may not be the smoothest film, but it is the most urgent, angry and important film to witness right now. Rated: 5/5 Aug 16, 2021 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Is heavy-handed? Yes. Of course it is; it's Michael Moore. Is it effective? Yes. It's a dissertation on where we are and where we are headed, for better and for worse. Rated: 4/5 Mar 1, 2021 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site Fahrenheit 11/9 proceeds in Moore's customary impressionistic and intellectually careless manner, often praised as non-elitist and "populist."
