Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail The film's structure is novel. A fact/fiction ambiguity works well, and genres are blended together like so much red dye and corn syrup. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 9, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Grant's slippery presentation muddles his point - if he has one - but it's fun to guess at what's a put-on. Feb 8, 2018 Full Review John DeFore Hollywood Reporter Fake Blood hardly distinguishes itself from the glut of mock-docs; it may be a refreshing break for the filmmakers, but viewers might prefer another zombie flick. Feb 8, 2018 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse It's a twisted b-movie that makes a smart u-turn, turning the story inside out as the movie flips from asking questions to basking in danger. Rated: 3/5 Mar 4, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The film is shot in a way that makes it interesting to watch with cinematography by Sarah Thomas Moffat and editing by Rob Grant. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 12, 2020 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Fake Blood is a wonderful blend of documentary and thriller, and will leave you questioning how much is true. Rated: 4/5 Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member If you are unable to distinguish what is real and what is fake in this movie, than your BS meter is broken. The bad acting readily identifies the fake astonished glances and contrived discussions about what the next step should be. The movie does a poor job linking the events and conversations into a believable tale that they just stumbled upon these circumstances. Bad mockumentary. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A crazy documentary where you don't know what's real or not Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Undeniably original. Though you'll have to watch the entire film to appreciate that the earlier moments which may have felt a tad cliche & superficial were in fact deliberate in order to start establishing the foundation of what pays off entirely — but only when the whole thing has been seen will the film's layered narrative format & genuine intent come into total focus.
