Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald A movie that offers nothing more than a warm glow, great music and a romance that rises effortlessly above the stereotypical. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 21, 2022 Full Review David Stratton The Australian Although undeniably predictable and unambitious, Falling for Figaro gets by thanks to the excellent actors and a quietly subversive sense of humour. Lumley steals the show, but that comes as no surprise. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 20, 2022 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au Falling for Figaro’s story is as predictable as burning dinner before your in-laws’ arrival. But the prosaic beats are offset by Joanna Lumley and Danielle Macdonald’s enjoyable performances. Rated: 3/5 Jul 18, 2022 Full Review Lynden Barber Limelight It’s no surprise that Lumley is absolutely fabulous and will draw most of the audience, but it’s Macdonald who makes the biggest impression. Jul 25, 2022 Full Review John Serba Decider Even if you don't expect much, it may not quite meet your expectations. Jan 8, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix [It] hits all the predictable beats of a romantic [film] about a woman who goes outside her comfort zone and ends up finding true love. Thanks to a charming performance from Danielle Macdonald, the movie is slightly better than the usual schmaltz. Oct 14, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

David Loved this feel good rom-com! Danielle Macdonald and Hugh Skinner have great chemistry. Just what we need as an escape during these times Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/02/21 Full Review Audience Member I gave up pretty quickly, and my wife didn't last much longer. It was bad. The problems: Opera sucks, and so watching a movie in which opera is sung isn't really a fun time. They almost lost me in the opening, in which the main character gazes adoringly at an opera performance, while the insensitive boyfriend sleeps. Honestly, I was with the boyfriend on that one. I also didn't find the lead convincing as the love interest. I think its body positivity or whatever you want to call it, but an obese person with a slim hot partner is just not believable for be. (And I say this as a person who weights more than he would like.) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Dex R The only thing worse than the script was the voice dubbing. The acting tried to be worse. But it wasn't quite that bad Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Peter K For those of us who love singing: a total delight! For 90 minutes forgot about the problems of the world and immersed my soul in the music. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Kate T An unpretentious, uplifting and pitch perfect little film, with glorious music. I can't help but think it deserved much more recognition than it received. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Cierra S We are supposed to root for her but she cheats on her boyfriend, and leads on another. She is "dissatisfied" with her job but without it she wouldn't have been able to afford to follow this dream where she flounced around said cash to everyone in the beginning. Then cheats on her boyfriend that is kind and supporting (they tried to make it seem like he wasn't supportive and made him apologize for it but he definitely was very supportive). Then Leads another guy on. The main character is just selfish and entitled. Very hard to like. Maybe they should have done another actress bc this one did not cut it.
