StephenPaul C The greatest 01 hour: and 27 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Fastball, much like the pitch itself, starts of fast but fizzles out the longer it goes. Engaging and thorough for the most part, the documentary becomes redundant even for it's short runtime. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I found this movie on NetFlix. If you are interested in baseball, you should watch this movie.Especially, you like pitchers. You will see great pitchers in MLB history on this film.Even Justin Verlander is on this film. They spoke about their secrets of the fastball. Scientist also analyses their fastballs. My takeaways 1.There were great pitchers 100 years ago.Walter Johnson was one of the greatest pitcher. His win and loss record was 417-279.It is impossible for modern MLB pitchers to win 417 games. But his fast ball was only 83 miles??? 2.Bob Feller was also legend in the 1940's, He could pitch 98 miles fastball. But this was not measured in a MLB game. 3.Nolan Ryan was one of the fastest. He played till 46 years old.He did 100 miles when he was 46 years old. 4.Alordis Chapman is the fastest in MLB.He recorded 105 miles. But he is a closer. He pitched around 15 for only 1 inning. 5.Could anyone pitch 110 miles? Maybe in the future. The baseball is evolving. Please watch this film and learn the baseball.Enjoy! -- Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review troy k Surprisingly entertaining and interesting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member very interesting documentary about the game and some of the best pitchers including from the early era Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member really cool baseball documentary. I still doubt Nolan Ryan threw 108 mph though.... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com If you are not familiar with this level of baseball nerdiness, then Fastball will be a revelation, and hopefully an entertaining one. If you are familiar, then Fastball will satisfy on a deep and extremely specific level. Mar 31, 2016 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal A fascinating and downright lovable documentary feature by Jonathan Hock. Mar 31, 2016 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor The sunniness of Fastball leaves out a lot, but watching it can be as pleasurable as an afternoon at the ballpark. Rated: B+ Mar 28, 2016 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens No seventh inning stretch needed for this documentary as you're in it for a full nine innings... Fastball knocks it out of the park. Nov 5, 2019 Full Review Tony Medley Tolucan Times I've seen lots of baseball clips but there are clips in this film I've never seen, including some fine clips of the legendary Walter Johnson. But there's a lot more to it than that. This is a film that no baseball fan should miss. Rated: 10/10 Apr 21, 2016 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Baseball historians will best appreciate this documentary that tries to prove a popular source of speculation among the sport's aficionados.
