Diego Semerene Slant Magazine Continues the bizarre tradition of documenting how superhero-like white foreigners with commanding accents come to America to revolutionize the way we eat. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 4, 2011 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter For all its aesthetic deficiencies and self-promotional aspects, it at least provides a valuable and important message. Apr 1, 2011 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times "Fat, Sick" may be no great shakes as a movie, but as an ad for Mr. Cross's wellness program its now-healthy heart is in the right place. Rated: 2/5 Mar 31, 2011 Full Review Matthew Sorrento IdentityTheory Phil's journey to health, with the help of Cross, transforms a lacking showpiece into a powerful tale of will and mentorship. Rated: 6/10 Dec 3, 2011 Full Review Luke Buckmaster In Film Australia the heart warming clarion call for self-improvement that forms the core of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead - which turns out to be one of the most inspiring documentaries about healthy living ever made - comes as something of a surprise. Nov 27, 2011 Full Review Mark R. Leeper Mark Leeper's Reviews [Cross] tells us of his self-redemption and his explanation of the principles is mostly entertaining, though eventually repetitious. The case histories he presents are effective and even sometimes moving. Rated: 6/10 May 4, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Rick M Bravo. And thankyou for the great ideas and encouragement. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Mike L I love it Very inspiring for me! Watch it occasionally, when I need a pick me up Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Very informational, non-biased and a great starter movie to transition from a traditional American diet into a plant-based diet. I show my older family members this one to get a better underdog how the toxic food we're eating directly and quickly affects our mind, health and immunity. Highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Tom F With obesity and chronic disease running rampant, this documentary really hits the mark Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/20 Full Review Audience Member The movie Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead is a very inspirational and heartwarming film. It has so much to teach you about eating healthy and addresses a very real and important problem in America. This movie made me think twice about my eating habits and even try the juice (mean green juice). In this movie Joe Cross starts off with a goal to lose weight in 60 days just by drinking his Mean Green Juice and to be healthy enough to stop taking his eleven pills he has to take a day. Joe Cross is able to accomplish his mission by influencing himself. He influences himself by degrading himself. This is an awkward way to think but for Joe it worked. After he accomplished his 60 days he went for a check up and no longer had to take his medication. It worked, he reached his goal!! I really hope this movie encourages people to buy a juicer or hopefully lose weight (not criticizing). My feelings regarding this topic are very positive and I totally agree with what Joe Cross is trying to convey throughout this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very inspirational and heartwarming film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
