Despite Broomfield’s insistence on access to the inner sanctum of Pandora’s Box, he never has enough nerve or imagination to join in the role-playing. Go to Full Review

Martie J Jan 28 A film that got better with time. This captures a period in NYC when the energy to create and discover art experience was flowing. Truly days gone by. Was the fetish scene underground? Yes. Did everyone know about it? Yes. The Mistresses are all unique with their own take on S/M, bdsm, roleplay and whatever else as long as - safe consensual and not sex! Dip a toe into this historic time of the underground every one knew about! See more 03/22/2015 Honest, slightly brutal- overall a playful history of the Fetish world. Broomfield presents to us a candid memoir, for a whole 'other' sexual dimension. ...my favorite part is the infantilism segment. Amazzzzzing! See more 11/28/2014 Best off as a one off on C4. See more 12/24/2012 These people are crazy! See more 11/08/2012 Documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield is given access to one of New York City's largest BDSM community playgrounds aptly called Pandora's Box but only manages to scratch the surface (no pun intended) of what makes these unique men and women tick. While the film succeeds at proving eroticism is in the eye of the beholder it will likely only engage those same aforementioned audiences. See more 10/26/2012 Interesting, yet the director has a clearly biased attitude. He spends most of the film trying to get the Mistresses to admit their aversion to men and "obvious" Lesbianism. He is ignorant beyond words and the questions posed are both leading and male-centric. See more Read all reviews
