Audience Member I LOVE bad horror flicks... But this is just a bad movie. The scarecrows could have been terrifying but instead they just wander around the farm aimlessly touching stuff with branches. The actors are annoying and there is so much awkward silence. The audio was garbage. Background music is basically non-existent. Low/changing volume really annoys me. The "acting" if you can call it that was aggravating. ManBun boy please find a different career asap. After finding a friend dead there is 0 panic and 0 concern for her or themselves. Honestly just made an account so I could see other reviews for this movie and they didn't disappoint. Lmao. DO NOT WATCH. PS. there are about 3 1/2 screams through the entire film. 🤔 Pathetic. Bring back the 80s please. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/25 Full Review BadNews R In all fairness, Field of Screams doesn’t look like a good movie from the start. Even going in, you know you’re taking a gamble—it’s either going to surprise you with something decent or crash hard into being a complete flop. Based on the flyer and the way it was promoted, I went in expecting something mediocre at best, maybe a fun little low-budget horror flick. Unfortunately, it ended up being much less than that. The biggest problem here is direction. The movie feels completely open-ended in the worst way, like the director had no clear vision for what this story was supposed to be. Instead of tightening things up and giving us an actual horror experience, the film just unravels. On paper, a killer scarecrow should work—it’s been done before, and in the right hands, it can be terrifying. But in Field of Screams, the scarecrow is never frightening. Compared to cult classics like Scarecrow, this version feels more like a cheap knockoff than an inspired attempt to breathe new life into the concept. The screenplay doesn’t do the movie any favors either. The writing feels half-baked, and the actors and actresses struggle to deliver lines with any conviction. There’s no tension, no buildup, and no real sense of danger. Instead, the film stumbles from one weak scene to the next, leaving the audience with nothing to latch onto. Horror thrives on atmosphere, pacing, and suspense—none of which are present here. By the end, it feels like Field of Screams checked every box for how not to make a horror film. Wrong cast, wrong script, wrong direction. It’s frustrating because even with a small budget, you can still make a good horror movie if you focus on creativity and execution. We’ve seen plenty of indie horror films succeed with minimal resources, but here, there’s no effort to compensate for the lack of budget with originality. In 2025, there’s really no excuse for delivering something this careless. Horror fans deserve better, and while not every movie has to be groundbreaking, at least try to make it watchable. Sadly, Field of Screams just isn’t. I can’t recommend it—not even as a so-bad-it’s-good type of movie. It’s simply a mess from start to finish. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Jessica G IMDB was a at off here. Such a high and misleading rating. What a waste of however long it was until we finally turned it off… maybe 10 or 15 minutes before the end. Slow, terrible acting, plot, and the “supernatural” evil villain was more of a joke…save yourself. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Charlene S Are you kidding me? I guess anyone can make a movie nowadays. The movie sounds like it was made with a camcorder. The acting is terrible. Biggest waste of my time, even though I turned it off after 15 minutes. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it didn't. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review Samantha W The clever title, plot, dialogue, characters, gore, etc. was all on point and exactly what you want from a good, dark humored, scary movie! Truly an independent film masterpiece! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/25 Full Review Read all reviews
