After an ill-fated audition at a prestigious New York music conservatory, violinist Finley Sinclair (Rose Reid) travels to an Irish coastal village to begin her semester studying abroad. At the B&B run by her host family, she encounters gregarious and persistent heartthrob movie star Beckett Rush (Jedidiah Goodacre), who is there to film another installment of his medieval fantasy-adventure franchise. As romance sparks between the unlikely pair, Beckett ignites a journey of discovery for Finley that transforms her heart, her music, and her outlook on life. In turn, Finley emboldens Beckett to reach beyond his teen-idol image and pursue his true passion. But when forces surrounding Beckett's stardom threaten to crush their dreams, Finley must decide what she is willing to risk for love. Beatrice Loayza New York Times Even as an amorous daydream, "Finding You" is dated and generic, Disney Channel-movie-esque, but without the charismatic teen stars. Dec 7, 2021 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times Scores around six on the logarithmic PH scale - Paddywhackery Hazard - that leads from acceptable neo-realist films at one to the herb we won't mention again at 10. Rated: 2/5 Jul 23, 2021 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian Tiny specks of grit get entirely smoothed over in pearlescent sentimentality by the end, eased through by lashings of flute-and-fiddle noodlings on the soundtrack. Rated: 2/5 Jul 13, 2021 Full Review Rick Bentley KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA) The relationship the very likable lead actors form makes Finding You a 21st Century answer to Notting Hill. Rated: 3/4 Aug 10, 2023 Full Review Abhishek Srivastava The Times of India The lack of dramatic twists and turns makes it challenging to imagine a film that is entirely devoid of conflict. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 4, 2023 Full Review Hosea Rupprecht Catholic News Service Given the significance of the lessons Finley learns - and their congruity with Gospel values - "Finding You" is probably acceptable for teens, some touches of vulgar language notwithstanding.
