Aspiring Secret Service agent Sam Simms (Sinbad) is none too happy when he discovers that he has been assigned to guard teenager Luke (Brock Pierce), the rambunctious son of the United States president (James Naughton). While Simms and Luke initially clash, they slowly form a friendship, particularly bonding over the young student's issues with a bully. The pair's improved relationship, however, doesn't stop the trouble-prone kid from getting into plenty of antics.

Michael W This Disney comedy was pretty good. Sinbad, Brock Pierce, Art Lafleur, Zachary Ty Bryan, Timothy Busfield, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The story was dramatic and entertaining. It's about babysitting the President's kid and letting him have some fun without people watching him. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's not great, but it's worth watching. Don't listen to the bad reviews this has gotten. Those people have terrible tastes in movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review Joel H I didn't dislike First Kid nearly as much as I thought I was going to, but I also didn't think it was that funny. Most of humor depends on whether you find Sinbad to be entertaining or not. He mostly just seems to riff on the scene and improvise his lines. Sometimes it works. Most of the time it doesn't. I found the titular kid to be highly annoying for the first part of the film, too, but I guess that was kind of the point. The story also takes an oddly dark turn at the end, which I wasn't expecting in such a lighthearted movie. I don't regret watching it, but I probably won't watch it again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Starring Sinbad as a Secret Service agent that is assigned to protect the U.S. President's son. The son is played by Brock Pierce, and while he didn't nail every scene, he did a good job acting. Him and Sinbad also worked well together during the film and the relationship between them is the heart of the movie. Sinbad as a comedian works for me about 80% of the time. So some of the jokes I didn't find funny and some of the humor comes from awkward situations, which I'm not a fan of. The drama, tension and villain in the third act all come out of nowhere and move the movie along, but were not set up great. If you like Sinbad or the premise sounds good to you, then check this movie out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review ashleigh c Two words... snake chat.
