Josh D When I started this movie and saw a stranger rolling into a town with “bad guys” in charge, I was like “I know what the whole plot of this movie is going to be” and man was I wrong. It’s wild for a super well-known movie from 1964 to be able to surprise me like this. The first thing I want to point out is the writing. This is a very well-written and grounded movie. Our hero is a flawed character and makes mistakes. Things that seem like luck or coincidence are actually planned out. And some things are left unsaid, not everything needs to get a big speech for exposition. Visually the movie looked great for it’s time. At no point did I feel like it was clearly a 60s movie, if you had told me it was made in the 80s I probably would’ve bought it. Of course, the soundtrack for the movie is also exceptional. Now, there are only a few issues I have that knock it down a star, the biggest of which is the dubbed voices. For those who don’t know, the movie was filmed in Italy and many of the actors in the movie are Italians who don’t really speak English, so much of the dialogue is dubbed over. Sometimes this isn’t too noticable, but other times it can be distractingly-noticable. Another smaller issue is the editing for some scenes. There are a handful of scenes that were noticeably too long, to the point that I would find myself thinking “Okay, I get it, can we wrap that up?” But again, these are relatively minor complaints. I really enjoyed this movie and I think it’s well-deserving of all its praise. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/25 Full Review Jenna W Although slightly corny due to the age of the film and especially the look of the fake blood, I found this movie really entertaining. I especially enjoyed the plot due to Clint Eastwood’s character’s schemes throughout the movie that pinned the Baxters and Rojos against eachother and kinda stirred up the dynamic in the town. Overall I thought it was an interesting and fun watch despite the fact I’m not a big western person. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review R S It was a pretty good movie. Most of the voice acting could have been better. I really liked the way camera angles and close-ups were used. The repetitive music was a nice touch. The prop design and sets were very well made. The story was decent. I haven’t watched many old movies but I would say that this movie was good for its time. Overall it was good, but wasn’t my favorite. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review Itandawy A The movie is really chaotic but really fun to watch a bit slow but has a good plot to it, I like how they went with it really classic but creating the mid-west scene and lost ion by creating the whole town, clothing, using actual horse for the situation of the time and all. Overall, great movie! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/25 Full Review Allie P At first I didn’t really understood what was happening but i figured it out like half in the movie. What i really like about the movie was when the guy got captured and he escaped and there was a tracking shot where we can see how he threw fire when the guys found out that he escaped and they were inside looking for him. I also like the sound effects when the guy walked away at the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Sofia D This movie was placed during the 60s so the film making was a more older film with a more modern style of the Mexican and American country. It’s intense and has a good story, although the only critique I have was in the beginning of the movie the concept wasn’t clear. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Read all reviews
