An attempt at an intimate personal drama that just doesn't come off. Go to Full Review

A film which creates drama more out of gesture and nuance than dialogue, and employs a lush setting which overwhelms instead of pointing up the characters' emotions. Go to Full Review

This isn't a movie anyone would mind, but it isn't one anyone would feel terribly touched by, either. Go to Full Review

The climbing scenes, which are well choreographed, take over the narrative. Go to Full Review

Toni A 08/17/2024 The captivating scenery and the suspenseful rock-climbing sequences maintain the viewer’s engagement throughout the film. The performances are commendable, making ‘Five Days One Summer’ a film worth watching. See more stuart s 12/31/2022 Good movie great scenery. The Swiss Alps. Sean Connery. It's not a James Bond movie but good nontheless. See more 01/31/2016 I thought this was a good movie despite it being so panned by the critics. I believe critics are subject to industry group-think, since their profession (if you can call it that) is at risk and scrutiny if they stray from what their industry counterparts rate. The plot is somewhat flat but no worse than standard dramatic Hollywood fare. However, this film contains some of the best mountain climbing scenes ever committed to film. They are real, underrated and accurately portray Alpine climbing techniques and equipment of the 1930s. See more 01/30/2010 Although it is a bit slow moving, it has rewarding aspects. The cinematography is grand, fine score and it is very well produced. It also is boosted by the presence of Sean Connery. The location shooting in Switzerland is also a plus.
