Par H @Parhwy 3d Forever's End (2014) is a 93-minute-long sci-fi/psychological film I watched on Prime in March 2026. I initially thought I was watching something like Z for Zacariah. That lasted for a while until would-be subtle yet not-so-subtle weirdness with characters, plot and flashbacks made me think this is more like Stay (2005) or Donny Darko (2001) except with young ladies in summer dresses amongst wheaten fields surrounding a farmhouse. The acting performances of the three main actors is ok, sometimes it seemed too natural (especially from Lili). As unusual as it is to say, Bryson has an uncanny valley similarity to Christian Bale. The focussed/unfocussed camera work of exterior scenes is cliché. The film’s ending is a music video – uncannily odd however I am learning that where films have one person pulling the main strings (in this case, writer, director, producer), the word "no" may not be said enough. Rewatch? No. Recommend? No. 4/10. See more May B @MayBeLater Mar 5 A Psychological Gem Beneath a Post-Apocalyptic Façade. At first glance, Forever’s End looks like a typical post-apocalyptic film: an isolated farmhouse, an empty world, a lone survivor. But the film becomes far more interesting once you stop taking it literally. Viewed this way, it reveals itself as a layered psychological allegory about trauma, memory, and confronting reality. The cleanest reading is that the only real event is the Fourth of July alley murder of Sarah’s father, with the farmhouse story reflecting her frozen mind processing that trauma. Lili embodies attachment to the past and denial, while Ryan is acceptance of the harsh reality. Sarah struggles greatly between them in her mind. Small symbols reinforce this. The necklace is familial bond and memory. The chandelier is truth, and Sarah falling into it is her painful collision with reality. Seen this way, the film becomes a narrative about psychological recovery, an underrated indie that deserves more appreciation. It ends being pretty predictable despite an attempt at a surprise twist. Please don't waste your time. See more Mark E @RT22909510 Mar 24 Entirely predictable. After viewing the same tropes in several other films, I've come to look for the "tells" in them when the existence of a character is in question. Cinematography is competently done. See more 03/25/2018 Not surprisin this film hasn't received a lot of reviews or attention.. It doesn't have a lot of explicit sex scenes, obnoxious use of profanity, your usual overflow of violence or a stream of A list actors/actresses. It was just an easy going film with a non-traditional way of telling a story that's been overstated in other films. It was simply a good movie. See more 12/08/2015 hose entering Forever's End's hermetic, sealed universe should know beforehand that the film's conclusion leaves many threads untied, and will have them contemplating the film's "meaning." Sold as a simple romantic coming-of-age story, Forever's End reminds us that things are rarely ever that simple. See more Read all reviews
