07/14/2015 Obviously the anime version of 1996 (the 1st part not this one) was the one I was like OMG! I remember watching the anime as a child (love Kitaro a lot!). The live action is not bad but when you see the anime (original version) you just fell for it very quick (unless you are not into Supernatural shows/manga's, creatures as awesome as this ones and a bit of time travel, etc). So yes, I recommend every Gegege no Kitaro film outhere (including anime) to all the 7th art lovers ;D - July 2015 review. See more 10/12/2012 Slightly darker and slightly superior than the first installment. Still erratic, but yokai rule and Tanuki rock, too. See more 01/18/2010 I havent seen the previous film but I love the old Yokai Monsters movies and thought this would be of a similar vibe. It kinda is and kinda it starts off being quite amusing but it very quickly feels like a young kids film, and not in a good way (for me anyway). It was worth seeing for the eyeball guy and crazy sh*t slinger but my attention did wander towards the end. See more 09/27/2009 Brings back memories of the cartoon!
