Critics Consensus

Ghost Rider is a sour mix of morose, glum histrionics amidst jokey puns and hammy dialogue.

Donald Clarke Irish Times It all seems so wearyingly old fashioned: teenage delinquents on motorbikes, creaky incarnations of Satan, a rock'n'roll take on dangerous cool. Rated: 1/5 Mar 19, 2012 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian It's ridiculous, likable, with some pleasing reminders of the Blade movies. Rated: 3/5 Mar 3, 2007 Full Review Joshua Rothkopf Time Out Grand, empty gestures and loads of CGI effects can't cover up pure schlock. Even the character's iconically cool trademarks -- a flaming skull and a fiery chopper -- are reduced to Velveeta slices. No, damn you, sir. Rated: 1/6 Mar 3, 2007 Full Review Emma Clark-Dow The Post NZ One of the drawcards of having Disney+ at your fingertips... Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Even the special effects are pitiable. Rated: 3/10 Nov 24, 2020 Full Review Megan Basham WORLD This strange amalgamation of Texas Ranger lore, NASCAR bravado, and the-Devil-and-Daniel-Webster trickery keeps the campy fun revving just enough that you can't completely hate it. Speakerman G Gostaria que esse filme fosse um clássico, mas é perturbador e muito exagerado. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/16/25 Full Review Niklas A One of the few films i decided to interrupt watching, the story is poorly written, the villains feel like they came out of a school project, Cage's performance is just unberable and awkward to watch and the editing is just straight up garbage, it just felt like a waste of time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/26/25 Full Review Laze T Its a shame i don't like this movie cause i love ghost rider as a chrcter and i even love him in this movie. Even my uncle is in this movie, i really wanna like this movie but i cant Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/19/25 Full Review Ed R A great comic to film adaptation! This movie falls along side the greatness that was Blade during it's time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Mitch B The story was awesome. Peter Fonda was solid as the villain. If Nic Cage had toned it down a but, and if it had taken the maerial a tad more serious, it'd be worth of a five star rating from me. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Paul S A poor script, mediocre visuals, and cliché after cliché waste this movie's potential. Despite its flaws, it was really enjoyable to watch, and I think it depicted Ghost Rider really well. I definitely recommend it for superhero fans!
