Chris P @Xiao_Proxies 6d Ghostbusters II reunites the iconic team of paranormal investigators, bringing back the charm, the chemistry, and the comedic timing that made the first film such a phenomenon. Watching Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson interact remains a delight, and their charisma still carries many scenes. The film retains the franchise's signature blend of the supernatural and the absurd, and it still offers a few fun set pieces and quotable lines. There's definitely fun to be had, especially for those already invested in the Ghostbusters universe. But as a standalone film, it doesn't quite reach the same level of creativity or energy. Ghostbusters II is a decent sequel, enjoyable in parts, but ultimately it plays things a bit too safe for its own good. See more Justin T @RT08580778 Mar 21 I prefer the first film but not by a lot. They are very similar. This one is funnier. They both have the same pacing issues. This has arguably more memorable moments but suffers from the lack of uniqueness and fails in the zeitgeist. The beginning and middle were good, but the plot holes and disappointing, lackluster ending and climax definitely held the movie back. All the good build up in the beginning and middle were thrown out the window because of that ending. Credit to where credit is due, the movie has great visuals with a good buildup to a lackluster climax. The characters were quite different but still enjoyable. The cast is more developed and the four ghostbusters seem like old friends and I like the return of Dana. I like how we see the ghostbusters get back in action after 5 years and that montage they show is really cool. Ghostbusters 2’s story is really good I like how the guy from the painting wants to enter the real world, but cannot so he needs to use a baby to transfer his spirit in to. Overall the story is better than the original because you do not really get into the whole story until the last 20-30 minutes of the original and you just see them going and busting ghosts. Which do not get me wrong I like, but this movie has a more centered story/plot. It also has great returning characters who work even better together than they did in the original.
