Critics Consensus

Listlessly wafting between action, comedy, and romance without ever solidifying into a satisfying whole, Ghosted earns a chorus of boos.

Ghosted isn't great, but if you're in the mood for a fun, lightweight action movie, there are definitely worse options.

Christy Lemire FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Big-budget, glossy, empty and soulless. May 17, 2023 Full Review Dylan Roth Observer Sadly, Ghosted fares no better as an action-adventure film than it does as a romantic comedy. Rated: 1/4 Apr 26, 2023 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) After a point, it starts to feel like Ghosted is trying to brainwash its audience. There is no chemistry, sexual or otherwise. Rated: 1/5 Apr 24, 2023 Full Review Martin Carr martincarr.co.uk On paper everything about Ghosted should work. In practice this Ana de Armas/Chris Evans romcom actioner falls flat. Peppered with lazy storytelling and believability issues, Ghosted looks expensive but lacks substance. Aug 29, 2024 Full Review Nadya Martinez All Ages of Geek Ghosted is even more bland and unoriginal than your typical Hallmark channel movie, with bad acting, terrible one-liners and a forgettable plot that fails miserably as it tries too hard to be too many things. Rated: 5/10 Jul 16, 2024 Full Review Bhuvanesh Chandar The Hindu Ghost yourself from this Chris Evans, Ana de Armas fever dream... Nov 16, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Ana De Armas makes this movie Great!! She is one of the most believable female “Action” Bad-Asses in the business!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Jimmy Quang N I didn't even know what genre it is in the beginning of the film. I couldn't last 10 minutes into it. The relationship between the 2 main casts were really forced. How they carried themselves in conversations and how they first meet in the film made me cringe myself out of existence. And then I read some of the reviews up here and found out that it was also an action movie. Too bad, I never had a chance to see it because the film made me quit after just 10 minutes. Bad movie, but good cast. What a shame! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review matthias s “Ghosted” had all the elements to be a fun romantic adventure—a stellar cast, including Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, and a team with impressive past projects. But despite my excitement, this movie missed the mark entirely. The plot is painfully predictable, filled with clichés and glaring plot holes that make the story feel flat. Evans is charming as ever, but it’s tough to buy him as someone who’s awkward with women or sports. Worse, he and de Armas lack any real romantic chemistry, which is fatal for a romantic comedy. The action sequences are well-executed, and the cinematography is polished, but the story drags far too long for what it delivers. Cameos bring brief excitement, but overall, the film is neither funny nor heartwarming enough to work. “Ghosted” is a disappointing mess of missed opportunities and unfulfilled potential. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Louis D Ghosted started off really well with a little romance between Sadie and Cole, and then moved into action, which was rather mediocre. Toward the end, though, the film got better and better. It's a movie you can easily enjoy on a relaxing Sunday. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Gerald S Absolutely awful! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Richard D A light hearted action comedy that does not take itself too seriously. Would watch again. Great feel good factor.
