Daniel and Lara, our Giddy Indie Kid Soul Mates, spiral in the center of the storm and broken glass that was the 00's Indie Music Scene. Beautiful, mischievous and disheveled, and on a quest for the ultimate Euphoria, Hedonism and Excitement that comes with dancing and thrashing on the front row to your new favorite song by your new favorite band. They don't miss a gig. They don't miss a beat. After the furious joy of dancing all night to a smorgasbord of incredible live music, then the DJ playing tune after tune of massive indie hits... looms darker spells in the shadows of the after party. The laughter has gone and is replaced by closed curtains blocking the morning light and the whispered shame of over indulgence. How far can they push it, when they don't want the night to end? Daniel and Lara, don their new boots, their perfectly scrawled eyeliner and ripped tights and indulge in a night of Pure Euphoria. Dancing on the tables in an infamous North London Live Music Pub, to their favorite band 'The Long Blondes'... One week after getting their lyrics 'Giddy Stratopsheres' tattooed on their fingers. At 6am they spill out of an after party to head straight to Lara's Grandmothers funeral. Lara hasn't slept and is clutching a poem she wrote when she was 10. Daniel is desperate for Lara to remember the events from the night before. Why is she in denial?

Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Despite its melancholy tone, this is a celebration of friendship and the way that lives can be patched together when nothing makes sense the way it should. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 23, 2021 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee Writer-director-star Laura Jean Marsh effectively evokes the London indie-rock scene in this 2007-set drama, but superficial nostalgia is about all that her movie has going for it. Audience Member Captures the zeitgeist of the 00's perfectly. Great ensemble cast deliver outstanding and believable performances. Simple but compelling storyline with two equally compelling characters in the two leads, Laura Jean Marsh (who wrote and directed the film) and Jamal Franklin. Based around a fictional gig by the Long Blondes and featuring music from Franz Ferdinand, the Futureheads, the Rapture and the Cribs among others, the film sets out to capture the wired unpredictability of British rock's latest great generational wave within a dark and personal narrative. At it's heart, it's a moving story about two friends set amid the euphoria, hedonism and tragedy of the 00's indie rock scene. Thought provoking and entertaining with a look about it of a far bigger budget production Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
