Audience Member i cannot believe that this is based on a true story… its so sad. this movie is good, but really really sad. The writers could have depicted more of the horror that the children faced when dad went on a vacation and left them to starve! The father neglected his basement family many times. The shock of the family of having another family brought up from the basement. The reunion. Judd Nelson come on!!! Its a brilliant yet very sad story, what pure hell that girl went through for all those years at the hands of her father. Get the tissues ready for the ending, well worth watching. I gave it 4 and half stars because of the parents. The dad because of what he did and the mum for not once going down to check basement when her husband was at work!! Rated 4.5/5 Stars •  Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Pooja S Difficult watch due to knowing this was based on true events that happened in real life to Elizabeth Fritzl in Austria. Taken me ages to actually watch it. The film has tamed it down to the actual events of what Elizabeth has to endure. The ending of the film was a bit disappointing, would have liked to see the reaction of when she sees her mum for the first time, she when the siblings all meet.
